Day 108 - Point Quobba to 14 Mile Beach

Michael's Birthday
Had breakfast, walk with Tuka, said goodbye to a few campers, packed up and left for Carnarvon.
In Carnarvon, I refuelled, got water and I rang Michael (no answer) and then updated blog. Went to the second hand book shop and exchanged some books and then talked to Michael (he had returned my call).
Drove up to the Tackle Shop and had my gas bottle filled (only a dollar dearer than Wollongong) and bought bread and milk. Drove up to the OTC Dish that was once used by NASA as a space comunication and tracking station.
Then headed north on the highway. Turned off onto the Coral Bay-Exmouth Road. Another 60km later turned off onto the dirt track to 14 Mile Beach on Warrora Station land. Coming over the hill leading to the beach I could see the aqua water and Ningallo Reef - very pretty.
Once there spent some time looking for a site with easy access to the water. The camp sites near the sandy part of the beach were only suitable for 4WDs. Found a spot on the ridge with 180 degree views of the ocean and reef. Access to the water and the rocky beach is steep so I will have to help Tuka back to the camp. Set up camp, had a walk with Tuka and afternoon tea.
