Day 112 - 14 Mile Beach
14 Mile BeachFriday, 10 May 2013
Sunny but windy day with a large swell so no good for kayaking.
Went for a walk with Tuka and did some bird watching. Did some reading, eating and more small walks with Tuka.
In the afternoon went for a two hour walk (without Tuka) along the beach. The campsites on the northern part of the camping area all had sand barriers to try and stop the high tides flooding their sites. Had a talk to some other campers about their trip. Walked to a low headland with views of large red sanddunes and then came back.
I went for a swim while Tuka watched from the shore. So much sediment in the water that I couldn't see the bottom. So far Point Quobba and Snapper Rocks were much better for seeing marine life because of the clear water.
