Day 104 - Carnarvon to Point Quobba
Carnarvon, Point QuobbaThursday, 2 May 2013
Shower, walk with Tuka and breakfast. Then calls to Anne, Michael, Kathryn and Brian. Packed up and drove into Carnarvon. Got some secondhand books and fruit & vegies.
Drove out along the Quobba Road to the Blowholes. Not as spectacular today as the Kiama Blowhole. There were no warning signs or fences or even a path to the Quobba Blowhole in contrast to the Kiama Blowhole.
Drove on to Point Quobba camping area. Camping area is close to the lagoon so oly a short walk for Tuka. The lagoon is protected by reefs and an island and is filled with a variety of fish, corals and other marine life.
Met next door campers Paul and Judy and on the other side Sue. I was going to only stay one or two nights but the other campers told me that Quobba Station was crowded because of the school holidays and that you had to walk over a sanddune to get to the water (bad for Tuka). I decided to stay at Point Quobba and do a day trip to the station.
