Day 23 - Lipson Cove to Cowleys Beach
Lipson Cove, Tumby Bay, Cowleys BeachSunday, 10 February 2013
Packed up and drove to Tumby Bay. Published blog, got supplies and water. Had a walk around the small town with one jetty, two pubs, two grocery stores, two museums and a yaht club.
Drove to Cowleys Beach about 25km north of Tumby Bay. Only person here while I set up camp. Campsite is the same as most fre camping sites just gravel with no grass. in fact there is little grass anywhere on the Yorke and Eyre Peninsulas during summer.
Some other people arrived and walked on the beach. I talked to a Canadian couple. They have travelled through eastern Australia and are now travelling to Perth than flying home via Europe. After an hour or so everyone left and we had the beach to ourselves.
There is no reception at the beach as I thought would be the case. No tv reception and dvd player not working (probably because of the dusty and bumpy roads). Spent the rest of the day eating, drinking, walking, swimming and reading. Warm enough for swimming once the morning clouds and cool wind were gone. The beach is sandy and there are even some waves. Tuka gets very frisky after I come back to shore after a swim. I think he is glad I have made it back onto the beach.
